Hey there, Richard_T! Here is what can help you resolve your device's inability to receive text messages from those contacts on the Verizon network.įirst, it is likely that the PIN that Verizon support gave to you is to move your wireless number to another service provider. While it seems weird that my number can be showing up on both Verizon wireless and AT&T here we are.ĭoes anybody have any suggestions on the correct wording to work with tech support to get this resolved. I am at my wits end trying to get this resolved. I was advised by the Verizon rep to have AT&T report my number and was given the pin to share with AT&T and tech support could not understand the request they kept saying your number has already been ported and I repeated the request over and over. I called Verizon wireless directly and my number seems to be showing up in their system on an old closed account. I do not have an iPhone and did not when I moved over to AT&T and use android. I discovered that when a friend on the Verizon wireless network texts me it says imessage vs sms. I received a text message from AT&T on Sunday May 15th that "We investigate your technical issue and were unable to find a problem." (Frustrating not to receive a call) I have spent about 15 hours on the phone and in AT&T store on this issue. I was advised by technical support to return the phone which I did. I opted for new phone and when it was set up I still could not receive text messages from Verizon customers. The next call tech support technician said that my phone was the problem and to do a warranty claim or new phone. When this was discovered I called AT&T for technical support and we went through all the troubleshooting steps (clear data, clear cache) and I was advised to go to a AT&T store and obtain a new SIM card which was done and did not work. About 2 weeks ago (Friday April 29) I stopped receiving tests from family & friends that have Verizon wireless numbers. I have been an AT&T customer for approximately 2 years. ![]()
